Porcelain Raft - Drifting In and Out
Just as I expected, Porcelain Raft’s debut LP, Strange Weekend, is stunning. This is the opening cut.
Just buy this gem next week. Preferably on vinyl, but MP3s are okay too.
Also, Remiddi and whoever else that’s playing with him live as Porcelain Raft are opening for M83 on their European tour. If you’re lucky enough to live over there, go to that show.

Young Dreams - Young Dreams
One of my favorite record labels, Australia’s own Modular Recordings, have recently announced the signing of Norwegian pop outfit Young Dreams to their roster.
Moving along from the fact that the song title is the same as the band’s name, the song sounds like a breezy summertime jaunt down a secluded beach where you and your forty closest friends are dancing around and acting like total jackwads from a Royal Caribbean commercial. I would hate you if that was your life because I’d be so jealous of your aloof sensibility.
Get out a couple more Young Dreams jams (“Expectations” and “Flight 376”) here. No idea when we’ll hear from them next, but I imagine sooner rather than later.
The new LC! album hit my inbox early this morning. I am beyond ecstatic and this is currently my favorite track.
That guitar line is beautiful butter. Or apricot jam.
“Tell her the times we shared that broke have been repaired Cinders of our old jokes have once again been stoked But with a different girl, funnier now they’ve been rehearsed.”
If that isn’t picture-perfect pop-punk, I don’t know what is…
Mauro Remiddi, the Italian Londoner behind PorcelainRaft, has a new record releasing January 24 on Secretly Canadian called Strange Weekend.
“Put Me to Sleep” is the first track to be debuted off the album (stream it above) and if you visit Porcelain Raft on Facebook you can download a copy of the MP3 for yourself.
Currently, Porcelain Raft is/are set to open for M83 on their European tour in early 2012.
I’ve been loving on Porcelain Raft’s sounds for a while now, but this new track really takes the cake.
When I fall asleep and have a really magical dream in which I can remember the feeling and atmosphere, but not the plot, this is what I think it sounds like.
